The Arts Team
Our Mission Statement: “The Arts Team believes the Church should joyously celebrate expressions of creativity and imagination as gifts from God.” The Arts Team serves as a leader for visual and performing arts experiences at First Church and as a liaison, from an art perspective, between First Church and the Community. The Arts Team meets periodically. For more information contact the church office.

Men’s Breakfast Group
We meet on the third Saturday of each month, at 8am at Country Waffles Restaurant– located at 2300 Athens Ave. in Redding. If you are new to first Church, then this is a great way to meet people in our church and to get to know each other in a more personal way– and also to make lasting friendships! If you would like to be added to the Men’s Group email list, or to find out more information, contact the church office.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry began with shawls for newborns in our church family. It was a wonderful way for our congregation to welcome these new lives into God’s kingdom. It is a way to bring them comfort cheering, and support. If you are so inspired, join this compassionate ministry. Shawls can be knit, crocheted, or even be quilts! Often residents in care facilities will have quilts on the foot of their beds that have been made for them by members of their church family. Completed prayer shawls can be turned in at the Welcome Center or the office during the week.
Meets on Tuesday Afternoons from 4:15-5:30pm in the Social Hall. New-comers are welcome at any Time!
An great opportunity for singles to have fun, good conversation, and fellowship with other singles. Click Here for more information!
The Wednesday Art Group
Wednesday Art Group meets periodically at 1:00 pm Wednesday afternoons in the Susanna Room and is open to anyone. Bring any medium to work on or learn something new from our Instructor. Work at your own pace. Questions? Contact the Church Office. “The artist is the opposite of the politically minded individual, the opposite of the reformer, the opposite of the idealist. The artist does not tinker with the universe; he recreates it out of his own experience and understanding of life.” ~ Henry Miller
