Thank you for your interest in First United Methodist Church of Redding. We welcome you as a visitor and hope you will be inspired to return as a regular attendee or consider becoming a member.

We are a local congregation of the United Methodist Church, which has more than 11.4 million members worldwide. http://www.umc.org. First Church is located in downtown Redding and has been committed to serving our community and our world for over 100 years.

Come as you are…casual dress is just fine! Stop by the Welcome Center in the foyer and pick up a free visitor's packet. Come share Fellowship, a cup of Fair Trade Coffee and some of the dilicious baked goods with our congregants at our Fellowship Cafe. Fellowship Cafe is held between the 9 am and 11 am services downstairs in the Social Hall. Fellowship Cafe is also offered after the 11 am service in the foyer.

What we offer . . .

Sunday Services: The 9 am, 11 am and 5:30 pm services all feature prayer, scripture reading, singing, a sermon, and communion. The 9:00 service is contemporary and features the inspiring music of the Fire Band. The 11:00 service offers a more traditional flavor with the beautiful Chancel Choir. Our 5:30 evening service offers an intimate spiritual experience with the music of the awesome Band of Light. Additionally the acclaimed Handbell Choir and Youth Band, Carload of Teenagers, perform upon occasion.

Children's Sunday School: Children are always welcome in any of our services, but we also offer Children's Sunday School immediately following the Children's Time at the 9:00am service (ends at 10:30am during the school year and 10am in the summer).

Programs: Classes, groups, and special events for children, youth, adults, young adults, and single adults are offered regularly. Please check our calendar of events or the Welcome Center for information, dates and times.
