Alternative Christmas Gift FaireThe 6th annual Alternative Christmas Gift Faire was back bigger than ever in 2011. Over the past 6 years, this annual event has raised over $33,000 for local and global organizations. The "alternative" in this Gift Faire refers to choosing to support an organization as a gift for someone, thus helping that organization continue doing the great work they do all year long in our community as well as globally. It is a wonderful way to move your holiday purchasing towards gifts that will keep on giving long after the holidays are over.
2011's event featured a wider variety of booths representing various local and world-wide non-profit agencies offering gift items and ideas that were sure to satisfy everyone on the list. There was also a fantastic selection of beautiful Fair Trade artisan handcrafts as well as Fair Trade coffee, tea, and chocolate.
This fun event also featured a special young children’s craft area (free) where kids could make their own gifts while
you shop. And for all other ages, there were several (free) Make-it/Take-it crafts just waiting for you to enjoy. To keep everyone in the holiday spirit, the event also featured roaming carolers, including members of the Foothill Choir. We encourage you, your friends, and neighbors to kick off the holiday season in 2012 by spending the afternoon at the only place in town where you can shop, make gifts, listen to great holiday music, snack on delicious refreshments while helping to make the world a better place!
