The Arts Commission

Our Mission Statement:

“The Arts Commission believes the Church should joyously celebrate expressions of creativity and imagination as gifts from God.”

The Arts Commission serves as a strong focus and leader for visual and performing art experience, in the Church and as a liaison from an art perspective, between First Church and the Community.

We Sponsor: Autumn Art Fantasy ~ Lectures ~ Workshops ~ Local Artist Exhibits ~ Summer Camp Art Group ~ Wesley Library Art Exhibits ~ & One of 8 Venues for Turtle Bay Cultural Cruise in January

Thursday Art Group meets at 2:00 pm Thursday afternoon’s in the Susanna Room and is open to those who consider First Church their home church. Bring any medium to work on or learn something new from our Instructor. Work at your own pace.

We are a part of the decorations and crafts for the Alternative Christmas Gift Faire. We support all mediums of Fine Art, and help with the Halloween Craft or Face painting booth.

Please take some time to enjoy the new art exhibit in the Sanctuary & Lobby. The Lerendipity Painters are a Redding area group of plein air (outside) painters who meet weekly to enjoy creating art work and enjoying the company of other artists. Sponsored by The Arts Commission.
