Humanitarian Aide
UMC Church & Society tries to make a difference in our world.
-
The Church regards the institution of slavery, the practice and commission of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and aggression as infamous and atrocious evils.
-
God’s world is one world. We commit ourselves as a Church to the achievement of a world community that is a fellowship of persons who honestly love one another. Peoples and nations feel secure in the world community when law, order, and human rights are respected and upheld.
-
We dedicate ourselves to peace throughout the world, to the rule of justice and law among nations, and to individual freedom for all people of the world.
-
Consumers should exercise their economic power to encourage the manufacture of goods that are necessary and beneficial to humanity while avoiding the desecration of the environment in either production or consumption. Buying ’Fair Trade Certified’ products is one sure way consumers can use their purchasing power to make a contribution to the common good.
