First Church Retreat

Camp McCumder Outing 2012 July 6, 7, 8th

Camp McCumber sits next to beautifull Lake McCumber and is just 39 miles east of Redding. First Church does a retreat at Camp McCumber every year. It is a place to R&R (Reestablish Relationships) and also to make new ones. First Church's Camp McCumber Outing is very family orientated and is a beautiful place where people of all ages can have fun. You and your fanily have the opportunity to go; boating, swimming and fishing, try your hand at archery, play horseshoes, maybe Frisbee golf, basketball, or ping-pong. There are always arts and craft to be made. And our Field Game parachute play is always very popular. If you feel like being alone, it is also a place to commune with nature, go for a hike, or sit on the dock and watch the Eagles.

Our Camp McCumber Outing happens every spring or early summer and it is usually on a Saturday and Sunday with an overnight stay, if you like. Cabins with beds and hot showers are provided for overnight stays and all meals are provided for a very fair price. At night there is a campfire with songs, skits, and s`mores, and stargazing. Pastor Rod comes up on Sunday morning to do the services in nature's outdoor cathedral.
