The Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is the corporate body of FUMC, recognized as such by the State of
California.
The Trustees are responsible for overseeing and managing all church property, buildings
and grounds, furnishings and equipment. They are involved in a covenant with the entire
church to provide facilities that invite and promote the ministry and mission of the
church.
The Board of Trustees is made up of nine church people, appointed by the Committee on
Lay Leadership, in classes of three, for three years. This system maintains a continuity
with six experienced people on the Board every year. In January the Board elects a
Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Representative to the Endowment Board.
