Serves members who are still able to be in their homes, and others who are in care facilities, hospitals, rehab centers and retirement homes. A visit, telephone call, or thoughtful note keeps these members connected to the active life of First Church. In times of crisis, Friendly Visitors offer prayers, loving arms and support as a reflection of God’s love and hope. Friendly Visitors meets every other month to confer on the status of each shut-in.

Imagine No Malaria
GOOD NEWS, MALARIA IS 100% PREVENTABLE. Unlike many other diseases that are awaiting a cure, malaria was eliminated in the U.S. in the 1950s. However, in Sub-Saharan Africa, malaria continues to kill a person every 60 seconds. But there is hope! Imagine No Malaria is part of a global partnership and together with our partners, our generation can beat malaria once and for all. More Info
Inclusive Ministries has been hosting a sing-a-long and dinner for over 10 years at First Church. Our guests are provided transportation to church on the second or third Sunday of each month (except July and August) by volunteers. Volunteers cook the dinners, set-up, and provide the drinks each month. This outreach is a way to show the love of God to people who feel unloved. Many of our guests do not feel love for themselves, and all are under the care of medical professionals for their illness.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry knits and provides prayer shawls to people in need of comfort and support. If you are so inspired, join this compassionate ministry! Shawls can be knit, crocheted, or even be quilts! Often residents in care facilities will have quilts on the foot of their beds that have been made for them by members of their church family. Completed prayer shawls can be turned in at the Welcome Center or the Reception Office during the week.
