What to Expect

Each Sunday, we offer two different worship services. No matter which service you attend, you’ll find that our congregation is filled with people who come from a diverse mix of social and theological backgrounds. What we share in common is our love for each other and for our community, as well as our focus on Social Justice.

Here’s what you can anticipate when you arrive:

Two Sunday Worship Options

Our main service at 10:00 a.m. is a larger gathering and offers childcare for toddlers through 12th graders. We also have a “coffee hour” immediately following the service in our Social Hall on the first floor. Our smaller, more casual 6:00 p.m. service offers a relaxed setting.

Both our 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. services celebrate communion each week, using bread and grape juice. This 2,000-year-old sacrament (fancy church word for a sacred tradition) connects Christians of all beliefs across time and cultures.

Finding Us and Parking

We’re conveniently located downtown at 1825 East St., Redding, CA 96001, at the corner of East St. and South St. You won’t have any trouble spotting us – a huge mural of doves faces South St.

Great News: Our parking lot (enter on South St.) offers free parking. You don’t have to parallel park or deal with meters! And if you arrive early, you can snag a parking spot in the shade under some of our trees.

Friendly Atmosphere

Prepare to be welcomed with warm smiles and friendly handshakes. We treat everyone like family, so don’t be surprised if we want to learn your name right away. We wear name tags each week to make it easier for you to get to know us.

Casual Attire

Hawaiian shirts, bright floral prints, and shorts (especially in the summertime) are pretty common. Nobody wears a suit to either service, and ties are rarely seen. Bottom line: Wear whatever puts you at ease as we recharge our faith each week.

Worship Through Music

Our church shares a deep love for all types of music, and we invite you to join in our celebration. Both of our services offer a mix of traditional and contemporary music. If you’re musically inclined, we’d be delighted to have you, but remember, all you need to do is “make a joyful noise,” and we can all certainly do that!

(Our choir is always looking for new members, so if that sounds appealing to you, be sure to introduce yourself to our choir director.)

Engaging Sermons

Pastor Charles is a charismatic preacher who connects the stories from the Bible with our lives today. With a warm heart, a fondness for sarcasm, and a willingness to embrace both mysticism and skepticism, he proclaims the Good News of God’s love for all. You’ll find his sermons encouraging, thought-provoking, and heartwarming. He always appreciates feedback – especially if you have questions.

We look forward to meeting you!
